Stanmore’s Great Minster East wins the Residential category in the British Gypsum National Trophy 2016 & progresses to the International stages of the competition in Prague this June!
The British Gypsum National Trophy celebrates craftsmanship and skills in traditional plastering and modern plasterboard systems, and is designed to recognise the contribution that contractors make to the construction industry.
As these prestigious awards entered their twentieth year & tenth competition, British Gypsum encouraged installers to enter completed projects in to one of the following categories:
Plasterboard – Winner: Kier Construction
Plaster – Winner: ISG Construction
Innovation & Sustainability – Winner: Morgan Sindall Group
Education, Healthcare and Hospitality – Winner: Laing O’Rouke
Residential – Winner: Stanmore Contractors
Commercial – Winner: Galliford Try
The winners from each category now go on to represent the UK and take on finalists from around the world at one of the largest international competitions of its kind, the Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy. The Saint-Gobain Gyproc International/National Trophy is a unique gypsum industry event; one of the largest international competitions of its kind; whose objectives are:
Continue to set and drive industry standards
Highlight & recognize the plastering & dry-lining profession
Showcase the skills of dry-lining & plastering contractors
Feature high profile projects using modern plaster and plasterboard systems and products
Continue to innovate in order to meet market needs for high quality, safe, sustainable, interior systems

The Saint-Gobain Gypsum International trophy, which will be hosted in Prague in 2016, was started in 1998. There will be more than 350 attendees at this biennial event representing more than 33 different countries.
