Nikita joined Stanmore in 2010 as a part-time invoice processor having just graduated as a medical student with a double masters from Kings College London and Central Lancashire University. Niki says “ I intended to check invoices throughout the summer then return to medicine. However, the Company intrigued me; there were so many new things to learn and I saw such potential for personal growth within Stanmore that I decided to stay and so accepted the offer of a full time position”.

Within 2 years Niki had become Manager of the invoice processing team who were responsible for checking prices and Niki began liaising with suppliers - just one of the many additional duties she would add to her role within the Buying Department. The Company was moving from a paper to paperless systems and Niki assisted with development and implementation of these systems. Buying staff were trained and new systems improved efficiency as the department expanded to incorporate the entire buying team, invoice processors, the plant team and the database systems. In January 2015 Nikita was promoted to Buying Manager and subsequently to Head of Buying in June 2017.

Post the Pandemic, which saw a fundamental shift in the way people work, Niki has divided her time between Stanmore Head Office, in the UK and the Mumbai satellite office she helped to set up. This, together with the inclusion of the Scheduling Team and Materials Pricing Team within the Buying Department increased the daily demands of the role. Nikita has so far risen to, and overcome, each new challenge and her continued, unerring, dedication to Stanmore saw her rewarded with a promotion to Buying Director in 2020.

With an eye to the future Nikita would like to take flying lessons and own a dog but is currently enjoying the hustle and bustle of living in London, going to the Theatre and watching tennis in her, albeit limited, free time.

Nikita says “I am very fortunate to have a job I love. It can be demanding but I know I made the right choice all those years ago. I have met wonderful people and made life long friends. I am so very grateful for the many and varied opportunities this career has given me and for the hard work and dedication shown by all the staff who form the Buying Department”.
